BiographyEdit

4460 was built at Lima Locomotive works to help with the war effort. After the war ended two years later, the engine pulled passenger trains across California.

The engine is also credited for pulling a train in 1958 that was supposed to be the final movement for Southern Pacific. It was then donated to the St. Louis Museum of Transportation for static display.

The engine is nicknamed the "forgotten daylight" because while 4449, 4460's "sister", gets all this attention, 4460 gets hardly any and is in an unrestored state.
