Biography

2472 was built in 1921 to haul trains from Utah to California. After being replaced by 4-8-2s, 2472 pulled trains in California.

In 1959 she was replaced by diesel locomotives and was donated to the San Mateo County fairgrounds until in 1976 when people came to restore the engine to it's current operable condition.

It now pulls occasional excursion trains whenever a chance comes.
