ATSF #1316 is a preserved 4-6-2 steamer.
#1316 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA in December 1911 for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad Company to haul express passenger trains. It worked for the Santa Fe for over 40 years until it retired in 1954. In 1955, the locomotive was donated to the city of San Angelo, Texas. In January 1980, #1316 was sold to the Texas State Railroad where it was restored in 1982 as their #500. The locomotive is currently not operating, it's undergoing it's 1,472 day inspection.
